SILLY VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
The Park Silly Sunday Market is looking for volunteers for the 2013 season. PSSM relies on volunteers to provide an amazingly silly experience to guests of the Market. In exchange for your time, you will receive meal vouchers and prizes (the prizes go up in value the more often you volunteer). Anyone who volunteers for 10 or more Sundays will be eligible for an industry pass to the Canyons Resort (discounted price of $599 -- not transferable). Click here to apply.
THE PRESERVE CLOSES ACCESS TO BIKERS
For ten years The Preserve was only one of five communities accessed by Bitner Ranch Road that welcomed road bikers to utilize its private roads. Growing concerns of safety due to an increase in home construction in all three phases of The Preserve has resulted in the decision to close the gates at the Bitner Ranch Road access beginning May 28. Trailhead access to the public Cobblestone Loop, Flying Dog and Preserve Connector trails, all of which meander through The Preserve, remain unchanged. Hikers and bikers can continue to enjoy uninterrupted use of these trails.
HISTORIC PARK CITY ALLIANCE PRESENTS LOCALS’ THURSDAYS
Historic Park City businesses will once again show locals some love on Thursdays during the shoulder season. Take advantage of great deals at participating restaurants and shops, and enjoy free parking all day on Main Street on Thursdays from May 2 to June 21. Click here for more details.
4TH OF JULY PARADE AND CELEBRATION
The Park City 4th of July Parade and Celebration features a big parade on Historic Main Street, and a full day of activities including a 5k run, pancake breakfast, parade, lunch at City Park, live music, rugby games, and beer gardens, followed by fireworks at dusk. These annual festivities are brought to you by the Park City Ambassadors, a non-profit volunteer arm of the Park City Chamber Bureau. BIKE FRAME BUILDER TO OPEN IN OLD TOWN
Branching from a humble beginning within a home studio and repair shop, Lucid Cycles is now officially establishing their stake in the Park City bicycle community by opening a studio and retail gallery located on the corner of Main Street and 7th. RIVERHORSE AWARDED FOUR-STAR RATING
For the 15th straight year, Riverhorse On Main received a Four-Star Rating among Forbes Travel Guide's 2013 Star Award winners. This will add to a long list of honors as Riverhorse has been a recipient of the prestigious DiRōNA Award since 1995 and also a time-honored AAA Four Diamond award-winner. WASATCH ACADEMY OF WINE CLASSES
Wasatch Academy of Wine is pleased to announce its first-ever wine classes scheduled to take place in the Park City area, beginning May 7th. A ten-week course in French wines, endorsed by the French Wine Society and Wines of France, will be taught. Rhea Cook, one of Utah’s two French Wine Scholar certified instructors, will be teaching this 10-week course at Park
City’s Elume Distinctive Lighting in Quarry Village. Each week a separate wine region of France will be presented and discussed, along with a premium wine tasting of 5-6 wines from the area. Cheeses and breads will also be featured. The cost will be $49.00 per class or $950.00 for the entire course. GOLF INSTRUCTION ON BONANZA DRIVE
GolfTEC Utah opened its doors at a new location at 1890 Bonanza Drive in Park City. GolfTEC has many locations nationwide and their mission is to provide a unique approach to golf improvement. In fact, they teach over 25% of all the private golf lessons given in the U.S. annually. SPIRO APPLICATIONS DUE APRIL 19TH
The Spiro Arts Artist in Residence (AiR) program features a diverse community of visual artists, composers, and writers from around the world. The program grants residents the opportunity to live and work as a part of a creative and supportive community, in a beautiful historic setting. The criteria of selection includes overall quality of work, originality, and potential for growth. New for 2013, Spiro Arts Artists in Residence will work in a semi-private studio building located within the Park City Mountain Resort plaza. PARK CITY FEATURED IN THE N.Y. DAILY NEWS
David Handschuh is a writer for the New York Daily News, who was recently hosted by the Park City Chamber/Bureau's Communications team. He recently had an article published in the New York Daily News that does a fantastic job of bringing to light Park City's unique culinary scene. Handschuh was blown away by the dining options in Park City, at one point even writing that "Park City made culinary obstacles disappear." With well over 5 million unique visitors per month to their website, and a weekday readership of around 2.5 million, the New York Daily News is the largest newspaper in the New York metro market, and the sixth largest daily newspaper in the country. The Park City location for Maxwell's East Coast Eatery is expanding their restaurant. They recently acquired the space next door, previously occupied by ZBSports. Maxwell's is one of Park City's local favorites, specializing in home made authentic Italian cooking. They are located on the ground floor of the Newpark Hotel, next to the plaza and and the Swaner Ecocenter at Kimball Junction.
DISHCRAWL COMES TO PARK CITY

HABITAT FOR HUMANITY OPENS RESTORE IN PARK CITY
The Habitat for Humanity ReStore is open in Park City! ReStore, a home improvement thrift store, provides materials re-use and up-cycling for a wide variety of home furnishings, accessories and building materials. Revenues from the sales of gently used donated items directly support Habitat for Humanity affordable housing programs in Summit and Wasatch Counties. PC MEDICAL CENTER RANKED IN TOP 1%
Park City Medical opened its doors in September 2009 and in that short time the hospital has earned a number of awards for quality, clinical excellence and patient satisfaction. The latest praise for the hospital comes from the federal government, in a recently published report citing Park City Medical Center as one of the top 50 hospitals in the country, out of approximately 5,000 accredited hospitals. Park City Medical Center ranked number 42 overall for hospitals with the highest percentage of patients who rated their hospital a nine or ten on a 0-to-10 scale. Congratulations!
PARK CITY MTN. RESORT IS COLLECTING STORIES
Park City Mountain Resort will celebrate its 50th anniversary next winter, and will be sharing guests' stories as part of the celebration. The resort is making an open call for guests to submit stories. Those selected will be developed into videos to be featured on its YouTube channel. The resort will showcase stories from each decade of its operation, beginning in the 1960's as Treasure Mountain up through the 2000's - so whether you were on the mountain for its first day in 1963 or more recently, Park City Mountain Resort wants to hear what you've discovered.
