Ready to Wear

All kinds of printed material is repurposed into chic, one-of-a-kind merchandise for the following year.

Did Joseph Gordon-Levitt once pose in front of the photographic backdrop that was made into your backpack? Did Paul Giamatti read through the press kit that is now the cover of your journal? All kinds of printed material gets scooped up after the festival each year, to be repurposed into chic, one-of-a-kind merchandise for the following year. And almost all of the festival apparel is made in the United States from recycled fibers and styled with that earthy Sundance edge.

Silver, cool shades of blue, and snowflakes will dominate the look of the festival in January. New in 2011 are a limited-edition “script bag,” perfect for your screenplay; a steel snowflake pendant that makes a great zipper pull; and a commemorative festival patch ready to be sewn onto anything. Be sure to grab the $2 silver tote bag, and keep an eye out for a limited-edition tee that won’t appear until the final days of the festival. Official merchandise can be purchased only at a Festival Store or online at sundance.org/festival.
