Park City snowboarding phenoms Blaze (15), Sage (13) and Kirra (10) Kotsenburg, as well as U.S. Snowboard Team Halfpipe Coach Ricky Bower and U.S. Snowboard Team member Graham Watanabe model the latest in “phat” snowboarding fashions at the Westgate Resorts World-Class Papillon the Spa, where you can indulge in pure alpine pampering. Gear up and ride on!
Pictured above: Graham sports Burton's Après-Jacket with faux fur hood in lemon head and an ipod in the pocket. Sage wears Quiksilver’s Inbound Jacket in peacock plaid. Blaze models Quiksilver’s Quasar Jacket in kelly green. Rick looks sharp in the Ronin 3L Jacket and Pant in moab and graphite pinstripe. Kirra models a pink fleece D.C. pullover. Don’t forget to buy your own U.S. Snowboarding High Sierra Crunk Boarder pack (in front). Cost is $49.99 at shop.usskiteam.com. Proceeds benefit future Olympians.

Sage wears Quiksilver’s Black Hole pant, DC’s Superpark boot in metallic gold/black and shows off his Rossignol “Scan” board. Graham sports Burton's 3L Jacket and Cargo Pant in C.R.E.A.M. watch plaid. Sage wears Quiksilver’s Space Station pant in chocolate. Rick models the Ronin 2L Jacket and Pant in titanic blue/green tea with the Ronin Jumper Beanie. Kirra looks cute in her DC outfit: the Gannett jacket in ice blue with matching Wesley pant and Halo boot in white/light grey. Her Roxy snowboard brightens up any slope!
About the kids:
The Kotsenburg kids are home schooled so that they can snowboard “all winter, every day.” Their specialties? Halfpipe and slopestyle freestyle events. Basically, these three siblings have dominated their age groups in every event they’ve competed in, mostly U.S. Amateur Snowboard Association events. Kirra was the youngest competitor in last year’s Roxy Chicken Jam.
Homegrown talent Ricky Bower, now a halfpipe coach for U.S. Snowboarding, competed on the international circuit for seven years as a member of the U.S. Snowboard Team. He won the 1999 World Championships and was one of the stars of the locally produced film, “Pipe Dreams.”
U.S. Snowboard member Graham Watanabe is currently National Champion for snowboard cross. He was a 2006 Olympian, and is the first American male to win a snowboard cross event. Best of luck this winter to our wonderful local athletes!
