Drop-In Sports
Art: Miles Parnell
The thing about team sports is that they’re hard to do without a team. Both Park City Recreation and the Snyderville Basin Recreation District offer drop-in programs for visitors or people unable to join a league.
The Park City Racquet Club offers drop-in basketball from noon to 1:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. You can drop in for indoor soccer on Monday evenings at 7:30. The Racquet Club also features a weight room, cardio loft, indoor tennis courts, hot tub and a whole host of classes available on a drop-in basis. Residents with a Recreation Card pay $5.50 to drop in or $7.00 for a class. Non-residents pay $7 to drop in and $9 for classes. Call 435.615.5400 or visit www.parkcityrecreation.org for more information.
Snyderville Basin Recreation now offers a weight room, indoor track, and batting/golf cages at its new field house. They also have drop-in soccer for adults, and drop-in lacrosse for kids. It’s easy to spot the new field house, out at Kimball Junction. To get there, take the road going east past Wendy’s for a quarter of a mile. Adult residents pay $5 to use the facility, kids pay $3. Non-resident adults pay $7 and kids pay $4. Call 435.655.0999 for details.
The privately owned Silver Mountain Sports Club also offers day-use passes. For $18, you can use everything the club offers, including classes, racquetball courts, weights and the pools. Call 435.649.6670 for more information.
