Suumit Land Conservancy

From Round Valley to Empire Canyon, from the McPolin Farm to Iron Mountain, the Summit Land Conservancy works every day to permanently protect Park City and Summit County's favorite open lands.

Based in Park City, the Summit Land Conservancy is a strictly local land trust, dedicated to permanently protecting as much of the remaining open space, trails, agricultural lands, and wildlife habitat in Summit County as possible.

Already, we hold over 2,000 acres in conservation easements in and around Park City. Our current projects include placing conservation easements on 180 acres on Quarry Mountain and 400 additional acres on Iron Mountain. Also, we are working with landowners to protect nearly 1,000 acres in Eastern Summit County, including trails and forest on the hills near Kamas, and fishing access near Henefer.

The 1% for Open Space program provides the critical funds that allow the Summit Land Conservancy to protect local open space. Participating businesses, like Park City Magazine, ask their customers to add a small donation to their purchase price. Customers who do not wish to make the donation, don't have to. While each donation is relatively small, when taken together they make an important contribution to the protection of the land that we cherish.

The Summit Land Conservancy is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. It is also a member of the national Land Trust Alliance and the Utah Association of Non-profits. For more information on the organization and our current conservation projects, please visit us at www.summitlandconservancy.org.
