"Small Bites Big Nights"

Seductive Little Plates for Intimate Occasions & Lavish Parties

What do The Wonder Years, Table 8 Restaurant in Los Angeles, and Ruth’s Chris Steak House in Park City have in common? Ann Wycoff, a self-professed foodie and Park City newcomer.

She has recently finished collaborating with celebrated chef Govind Armstrong on “Small Bites Big Nights,” a cookbook from the executive chef and owner of the Table 8 restaurants in Los Angeles and South Beach, Miami. The beautifully photographed cookbook features some of the chef’s most delectable, yet easy to prepare, taste treats.

Ann met Govind (pronounced GOH-vind) while she was producing X-Dance, the action sports film festival hosted in Park City, and he was cooking at Chef Dance, a culinary event featuring top chefs from around the world.

“Govind wanted a cookbook that would invite you into his world to experience the joy he has in cooking,” Ann explains. One of her favorite recipes is Grilled Endive, an hors d’oeuvre that combines a “yummy potent cheese” with Serrano ham and “takes only five minutes to make.” She terms another creation, Fried Olives with Spicy Lamb Sausage, “beautiful.”

The collaboration followed Ann’s move here when husband Mark Wheadon became general manager of the new Ruth’s Chris Steak House. And how do The Wonder Years fit in? Ann started her successful L.A. career on the set of the popular TV show.

“Small Bites Big Nights” is available at Dolly’s Book Store on Main Street.

Lola Beatlebrox is the author of “Your History Your County,” a children’s history of Summit County published by the Summit County Historical Society. She lives in Brown’s Canyon with her husband Zafod, two dogs, three cats and three llamas.
