5 Great Swimming Spots

Whether the dog paddle, cannonballs or lap swimming is your style, the Park City area offers plenty of options for cooling off.
1. Park City Racquet Club at 1200 Little Kate Road offers a lap pool for adults, and a leisure pool complete with slide and lazy river for family fun. $4 for children, $7 for adults, 435.615.5400.
2. Silver Mountain Sports Club, 2080 Gold Dust Lane, has two outdoor pools; a junior Olympic-sized lap pool and a leisure pool that boasts a lazy river and a 60-foot water slide. Daily rates for visitors are $18 for a day pass, ages 7 and under free. 435.649.6670.
3. The South Summit Aquatic and Fitness Center in Kamas features a huge leisure pool with 150-foot-long helical slide and children’s play features including water cannons, tot slides, lazy river and more. The six-lane, 25-yard competition pool is great for adult swimmers. Kids under 3 free; kids 4-17, $3; adults, $5; seniors 60 and over $4. 435.783.2423.
4. Jordanelle Reservoir, accessed via Highway 40 about 20 minutes from Park City, offers 3,050 surface acres of water swimming, fishing and boating, and a protected swimming area. 435.649.9540.
5. Ecker Hill Middle School at 2465 Kilby Road offers an indoor, state-of-the-art Olympic-size lap pool with high dive and kids’ pool. Adults (18-59), $4; kids (4-17), $3. 435.645.5617.
