Unlock the Door to Mountain Biking this Summer

If you love to mountain bike, pick up Gregg Bromka’s new guide to trails in Park City, Kamas and the Heber Valley. Called “Mountain Biking: Park City and Beyond,” this handy tour book is full of useful information about area mountain biking trails for all biking abilities.

“Park City is a spider’s web of trails,” Bromka says. “This book is the key that unlocks the door to understanding where to ride.”

A veteran mountain biker, Bromka was motivated to write this guide after seeing so many Park City visitors scratch their heads at trail junctions. The book is loaded with easy-to-understand maps including elevations, vital statistics and scenic details.

Since Park City’s mountain trails skirt the sites of old silver mines, Bromka provides a healthy dose of anecdotes and historic photos that will pique even the most jaded teenage rider’s interest.

This book is not just for newcomers. Locals who have a hankering for new territory will also enjoy the tours outside of Park City including the Uinta Mountains and Strawberry Reservoir area. “If Park City trails are crowded, these outliers are a fun getaway,” says Bromka of the challenging Hoyt Peak Trail, the far tamer Shingle Creek Trail, and the off-the-beaten track Strawberry Narrows Trail.

“Mountain Biking: Park City and Beyond” is available at Park City bike shops, Dolly’s Bookstore on Main Street, and the Spotted Frog Bookstore in Redstone.
