Silly Comes to Park City
Imagine an open-air, eco-friendly market with fresh organic produce, street entertainers, gourmet food booths, artisans, antiques and collectibles in the heart of Park City’s Old Town. After years of discussion, this concept is debuting this summer. It’s called the Park Silly Sunday Market and it begins June 17th on Park City’s lower Main Street.
“The city is behind this event 100 percent,” says Mayor Dana Williams of Park City. “It is a family event based on the principals of stewardship and environmentalism.”
Creators of this non-profit weekly event say the atmosphere will be exciting and different each week. “We will be catering to locals and visitors,” says Market Director Kimberly Kuehn. “We’ve had an amazing response from the community and that excitement will be tangible each Sunday.”
Booths will line lower Main Street on Sundays from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m., June 17-October 14, 2007. Live music will also be included in this free public market.
Kuehn says the market’s commitment to zero waste is key, along with a focus on an authentic meeting place for the entire community. “The Park Silly Sunday Market is the perfect fit for our town, and is a must-see experience, no matter who you are.”
