Growth Spurt

Maximize your harvest at our weekly farmers market.

Park City Farmers Market, Wednesdays, June–October, Noon–6 p.m., parkcityfarmersmarket.com
The Park City Farmers Market is the place to be on Wednesday afternoons in the summer. Since its 2002 inception, the market has grown and flourished into one of the most popular happenings of the season. Vendors come from all over Utah with fresh produce, locally made foods, and beautiful arts and crafts. While there’s always a delicious array of items to peruse, here’s how to make the most of each month:

June

Try Chad’s Produce for bags of fresh-picked lettuce and chard, and don’t miss the fresh eggs he brings. Stock up on Weeks Berries’ summer strawberry crop, too.

July

Jenson Farm Sweet Corn & Produce brings a pickup truck full of corn that tends to sell out before the day is over, so act fast! If you start to crave a taste of the maize while you’re at the market, Jimmie Crack Corn serves up cooked ears ready to eat.

August

Take the summer sunshine home with a bouquet of naturally grown sunflowers from Ward’s Green Acre.

September

This month you’re sure to encounter fruit grower Ron Jenson, “the peach guy.” He’ll brag about his tasty produce, so take him up on the offer to sample the peaches. Then make your pick.

October

While pumpkins abound, it’s also a good time to stock up on several ready-made delicacies including Yee-Haw pickles, Happy Monkey Hummus, and a fresh loaf of Volker’s Bakery bread.

Fast Cash

While there is an on-site ATM, small bills rule. Only some vendors take credit cards, and you’ll save time if you have exact change.
