Spiro Arts Announces the 2012 Artists-In-Residence Summer Schedule
Spiro Arts is proud to announce the Term I Artists-in-Residence // Apr 9th-May 21st. Four residents including Paolo Fortin, Sonja Hinrichsen, Meghan Wilbar, and Adam Stumacher will live and work at Spiro Arts within the Silver Star development on a variety of exciting projects. Artists-in-Residence are granted six weeks of private housing, ample studio space with 24hr access, and a $600.00 stipend. Spiro Arts is dedicated to supporting the residents in the creation of new works by offering an environment that promotes risk-taking and innovation.
Each Artist-in-Residence is required to perform one community outreach program, which are designed to further the residents experience and educate the public about the artistic process. Programs may include lectures, performances, film screenings, readings & discussions, workshops, and guided studio tours.
The residency program is very competitive, open to emerging and established visual artists, composers, and writers from around the world. Applicants are selected by a jury of professionals including gallery owners, working artists/composers/writers, former residents, university professors, and community leaders.
