The Canyons Resort announced several new guest experiences. The first option is the “Ride with a Groomer” package that includes a 2 1/2 hour ride in The Canyons’ 330 horse power groomer. This is a full on-mountain and night grooming experience, including an explanation of grooming and what is involved, techniques, challenges and conditions. The second opportunity is to “Ride with a terrain park operator.” Guests will have the opportunity to ride along with the terrain park groomers as they prepare the mountain for the next day. This is a 2-hour ride. Then there is the “Drive a Snow Cat” option. Guests will get to drive, till, turn, plow snow, and even groom a run if they feel comfortable. This will be a full grooming shift. Lastly, guests will be able to participate in “The Doc’s Run Parade” when the entire grooming fleet is unleashed onto Doc’s Run every night at about 5:15 pm. Guests can watch the entire fleet head up the hill from the deck of Doc’s run while enjoying a drink or dinner. These packages can be booked through The Canyons reservations department by calling 1-888-CANYONS (226-9667).
Barron's magazine named Park City as "One of the Ten Best Places to Own a Second Home." The cover story on the March 8, 2010 edition states that luxury home prices are starting to rise as bargain hunters swoop in. The article goes on to state many of the things that make Park City a special place; and they note that it isn't just about the great skiing. It is the summers of golfing, mountain biking, fly fishing, boating, hiking, great restaurants, shopping and the bonus that Park City is less than 30 minutes from Salt Lake City International Airport. The Barron's article also suggests that prices may be near the bottom and points to the recovering stock market and stabilization of housing markets in many major cities nationwide as an impetus for the renewed interest in luxury second homes. The article claims that Park City pricing is off by 45%. The YouInParkCity.com Group of Keller Williams Park City Real Estate agents has commented that this is true in some Park City areas, but not all of them.
