Gals: Stanfield Fine Art To Host Famous Romantic

Gals: Stanfield Fine Art To Host Famous Romantic

Long before book publishers approached Italian artist Pino Daeni, the expressive painter already enjoyed a thriving reputation for his warm, nostalgic style and ability to convey movement in his portraits.

Nonetheless, it was Pino's 20-year career illustrating romantic scenes for Bantam, Harlequin, Penguin and several other major publishers that earned him global recognition. Pino ruled the industry of romance, illustrating covers for over 3,000 popular novels. Using an unknown, long-tressed male model in his early works, Pino made famous the now iconic symbol of manly ultra-romanticism - Fabio.

Daeni impacted the arts world more quietly with his private works, maintaining an impressive fine arts collection that has earned him a reputation as one of the industry's most versatile painters. His original pieces often sell for $30,000 or more, while even his giclées fetch high prices among collectors. A charismatic charmer in person, Pino will personally present his work next week at Park City's Stanfield Fine Art, an eclectic gallery that has increasingly generated buzz since its social prominence at the Sundance Film Festival.

Stanfield now displays a diverse range of Pino's work, including rare originals. To welcome the artist, who will appear at the gallery on March 6 and 7, Stanfield's female staff plans to dress in the flowing, romantic style of his muses. They have invited all women to join the gaiety, offering surprise gifts for those who attend the reception in costume. To RSVP, please call 435-658-1800 or e-mail stanfieldfineart@qwest.net.

Tracie Fails is the editor for parkcityvoyeur.com, former editor of the entertainment publication Flipside and former reporter for The Park Record newspaper.  Will Tracie show up at the Stanfield Gallery in romantic period garb?  There's only one way to find out...
