I love it when I can support and celebrate the endeavors of fellow creative types trying to make their way in the world. Last night was such a night. Former pro skier, author and filmmaker Bill Kerig unveiled his latest film, "The Edge of Never" to an intimate but lively group of friends, family and associates at the beautiful Post Theater in the lovely historic Fort Douglas neighborhood at the University of Utah. The gang from High West Distillery (due to be open in Park City in late September) showed to pour celebratory libations, and of course warm, buttery movie popcorn was served as well. Bill started his film "The Edge of Never" five long years ago, encountering many bumps along the way - everything from crew members dying to weather holds for... 07/13/09Afternoon Delight
As one of the guests at yesterday afternoon's Park City Food and Wine Classic murmured, "I can't believe this is Utah." Indeed, there we were, outside at The Canyons Forum, surrounded by unusually-green-for-July-mountains and about 500 wines! Guests strolled from booth to booth, sipping the likes of King Estate Pinot Gris, Frog's Leap Napa Cabernet Sauvignon, Trefethen Merlot (the lines for these wines got a bit elbowy with gleeful anticipation), or perhaps seeking treasure in those a little less well known - one felt so adventurous, after all - let's try the TWODOG Sauvignon Blanc and Viogner mix, or the smoky Fontanafredda Briccotondo Barbera (the wine flowed over the tongue as beautifully as its name).
