Sundance Report: Free Films for a Cause

One of the Sundance events I’m most looking forward to is next week’s Paradigm Film Project. It promises to be one of those Sundance offshoots that ends up being a gem. Here’s an event you can attend without a ticket, for free (on a first-come, first-served basis), and enjoy films that are cause-oriented. Six short socially-driven films will highlight small non-profit organizations such as The Paradigm Project, which provides safe cook stoves for women in Africa, cutting back on polluting emissions and creating sustainability for families; Krochet Kids International, which teaches women in Northern Uganda & Peru to knit and then sell hats; Invisible Children, which is helping to rehabilitate children who have been abducted by the Lord’s Resistance Army in the Congo and more. The Paradigm Film Project will be screened at Park City High School (1750 Kearns Blvd, Park City) at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, January 25, and again, it’s free. I can’t wait! (theparadigmproject.org)
